Call for Proposal (CFP)

Deadline for Proposal Submission: December 15, 2022

Please take a moment to review the following information before you begin your submission.  

Proposals are currently being accepted for Power Up 2023, which is sponsored by Missouri Assistive Technology. For consideration by the review committee, please complete the online form and all submission requirements no later than December 15, 2022.

Suggested Topics (Other topics will be considered)

• Augmentative and Alternative Communication
• AT in Education
• AT for low-vision/blindness
• Information Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility
• Accessible Educational Materials (AEM)
• Employment and AT
• Adaptive Gaming
• AT for Independence and Access in the Community
• Apple, Google & Microsoft Operating System Accessibility 
• AT for Specific Populations (i.e. TBI, Autism, Mental Health, IDD)
• Other AT Product and Services

General Information

• Presentations are 60 minutes and should include time for questions and answers
• Session proposals must be submitted online
• Sessions proposals must be submitted before December 15^th, 2022
• Sessions that utilize participant engagement are encouraged
• In-person sessions are encouraged, but virtual sessions will be available
• Selected speakers will receive a complimentary conference registration

Evaluation Criteria

• Relevance to the topic of assistive technology and related services
• Impact on and enhancement of participants’ knowledge and skills
• Ability for replication and application by participants after the conference
• Session objectives

Submission Requirements (please have ready before starting the submission process)

• Title of presentation
• Session objectives (learning outcomes)
• Lead and co-presenter contact information and brief biography
• Photo of Presenter(s)
• AV requirements

Important Dates and Deadlines:

• Session proposals are due no later than December 15, 2022
• Proposal selection notification announcement no later than December 20, 2022
• PowerPoint presentations and hand-out materials are due by March 6, 2023
• Conference dates and location: April 3 & 4, 2023, Columbia, Missouri
